Great day at the Bonsai Centre

Been doing my introduction to bonsai course today.

Had a really great day learning about compost, re-pottingĀ and controlling tree growth with wires. It was good to end up with muck under the finger nails.

The worst bit was the extreme privet trimming, going from this:


to this:

Arrrgggggggg! I hope it grows back, which the bonsai gurus assure me that it will.

I also acquired a new Serissa tree to accompany the Chinese Elm I got for Xmas. Both have been repotted and ready to flourish in spring.

Part two of the course scheduled and already booked. I can’t wait.
